An ill fitting or poorly made bra can cause discomfort, back pain, neck pain, headaches, sagging breasts or bulges so its best to be sure your bra is the right size for you.

All Pink Petticoat staff are trained and accredited bra fitters. You can visit our store anytime for a free professional fitting, however if you are unable to visit our store we have outlined some troubleshooting hints and tips below so that you can be sure you are wearing the correct size.

Bra Fitting Troubleshooting Tips

The bra rides up at the back
The back is too big so you need to consider coming down a size in the back (e.g. from a 16 to a 14).

The bra digs in around your back
The bra is too small and you need to consider going up a size in the back (e.g. from a 16 to a 18).

Your bust is bulging over the top of the cup
The cup size is too small therefore you need to consider going up a cup size (e.g. from a C to a D).

There is fabric puckering or wrinkling in the cup
The cup is too big therefore you need to consider coming down a size in the cup (e.g. from an E to a DD).

The underwire is digging into the breast tissue under your arm
The cup could be too small therefore you need to consider going up a size in the cup (e.g. from a D to a DD).

We recommend that if possible, and if you haven’t done so already, try on the bra you are considering purchasing as the different brands do vary in size. For example although you may be a size 14D in a Berlei branded bra you may be a size 12DD in a Triumph branded bra.
